Mathematical and computational models are developed to describe and predict flows and hydrodynamic loads in many ocean-engineering applications:  e.g., ships, offshore strucutres, energy-extraction devices.  The CMML is a fully networked facility with a bank of high-speed workstations and PCs. Animation and data visualization capabilities allow easy comprehension of complex flow features.  Students working in this area develop to be well-trained in mathematical analysis, eningeering principles, computational methodologies, and computer graphics.
