Christophe Cochet Wins SNAME Graduate Paper Award

ME Ocean Engineering Alumnus Christophe Cochet (MS '11) presented his paper Hydrodynamic Performance of a Compound Cylinder Extracting Ocean-Wave Energy, which addresses the relative motion and energy extraction capability of a pair of coaxial and vertical cylinders in waves, and received the 2012 Graduate Paper Award at the Sociey of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) annual meeting in Providence, Rhode Island.

Cochet, a former student of ME Professor Ronald Yeung, is now a member of the energy staff at Centre d'Ingénierie Hydraulique Électricité de France (EDF).
